Photography

Here are some photographs that I have taken. I did Photography last semester at uni, which I really enjoyed. At the end of the semester we had to put together a photography book of photos we have taken during the course, above is some of the photos and pages in my photography book

For one of my classes this semester at uni we got given a Haiku poem and then had to explore the poem and create an AO poster about our Haiku words using text and images (above)

My Haiku poem is:

coquettish seagull
melting blushing grotesque prune
hastening echo

After finishing my AO poster I create a 30 second film in iMovie HD going through the story of my Haiku poem. I made 5 silhouette shadow models based on my Haiku poem. I then put my models on top of my A0 poster and used lights to project shadows. The whole time that the light was projected onto my models to create shadows I was taking photos documenting the shadows.

I imported my photos into iMovie and started experimenting with the timing of the photos so that it would run smoothly when played. Music was the next thing I added. Seeing as my poem is quiet dark and gloomy I decided to have music by Evanescence ‘Tourniques’ playing in my film. I experimented with my photos and music so that the different scenes would work together and work well as an overall short film. I also recorded myself saying my Haiku poem and placed that at the start of my film to introduce my Haiku poem.

Story Board

Here is one of my recent uni assignments. By using Photoshop I created a six page storyboard on my sister Georgia portraying her passion and interest in Surf Life Saving. Throughout the storyboard my aim was to explore Georgia’s many talents for Surf Life Saving. This storyboard tells a story of Georgia’s passion for Surf Life Saving, her ability to rescue people, her boarding and sprinting abilities, training for competition and winning the National Under 19 Girls Beach Relay.

'Type as Image' Poster and Mornington Beach logo

Here is my Typography "Type as Image" Poster. We got to choose a decade (mine was the 1960's) and then pick an event which occurred during that decade and produce a typographically poster which will focus on the promotion of a contemporary event. I chose to do my poster on The Beatles celebrating their 50th Anniversary.

Here is a logo I created for Mornington Beach for a uni assignment. Below is my black and white version of my logo and a poster for my logo using only the elements in my logo to create the poster.

Postcards

Here is my set of 4 postcards of a shell. They are all hand made by drawing, photocopying, cutting out and cropping. Above are my black and white version and underneath is the final postcards in colour

Tammy

Here are some grey lead drawings of my dog Tammy when she was a puppy. Tammy is a gorgeous Labrador who is very playful, loving and full of energy.

I have drawn more grey lead drawings of her and made a little book of all of my drawings of Tammy

Canada

At the end of 2008 and the start of 2009 I went travelling to Canada for 2 months. I had an amazing time over there meeting my family and seeing this beautiful country. Above is a painting I painted of Banff, which is the most beautiful place, if anyone is going to Canada definitely go to The Rocky Mountains. Everywhere you look there will be something that takes your breath away, it's like looking into a postcard.

I drew this Tiger in Dry Pastels in my first year of Illustration. This drawing took me hours and hours to do but I'm very happy with the final result
